Strip invisible AI watermarks in one click
Many AI writing tools quietly insert invisible characters — zero-width spaces, odd spacing and directional marks — that survive copy-paste and can flag your text as machine-written or trace it back to a source. This tool finds and removes them deterministically, so your visible words read exactly the same while the hidden fingerprints are gone. It also scrubs hidden metadata from PDFs, Office documents and images.
How it works
Drop in AI-generated text, or upload a PDF, Word/EPUB document or image.
Every known watermark character is highlighted and removed, and hidden file metadata is scrubbed — on our server, in memory.
Grab the clean text or download the cleaned file. Nothing is stored afterwards.
What it removes
Zero-width space, word joiner, BOM and invisible math operators hidden between words.
Non-breaking, thin, hair, en/em and ideographic spaces normalised to a plain space.
LRM/RLM and embedding, override and isolate controls used to hide character reordering.
The deprecated U+E00xx tag block that can smuggle hidden, machine-readable data.
Variation selectors that aren't attached to a real emoji — a common hiding spot.
EXIF, XMP and C2PA provenance data stripped from PDFs, Office files and images.
Cleaning files in bulk
Drop in a whole folder of drafts, exports or client documents and they are cleaned one after another — each file keeps its own download link, and “Download all” saves the lot. How many fit in one upload depends on your plan:
Every file counts as one removal, and the 5 MB per-file cap applies to each one. See plans.

Keeps real content intact
Not every invisible character is a watermark. This tool deliberately preserves the ones that carry meaning — emoji sequences (like 👨👩👧 and skin-tone modifiers) and the zero-width joiners used in Arabic, Persian and Indic scripts — so nothing in your text breaks.
Your text and files are processed in memory only to clean them, then discarded. We never save or log what you paste or upload.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI watermark in text?
It's one or more invisible Unicode characters slipped between your words — most often zero-width spaces, word joiners or unusual space characters. You can't see them, but they ride along when the text is copied and can be used to flag content as AI-generated or to trace where it came from.
Will this change how my text reads?
No. Only invisible and formatting characters are removed, and exotic spaces become ordinary spaces. Every visible word stays exactly as you wrote it — emoji and non-Latin scripts included.
What file types are supported?
Plain text and Markdown, PDF, Word / Excel / PowerPoint (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX), OpenDocument (ODT), EPUB, and images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, TIFF). Text inside documents is cleaned character-by-character; PDFs and images have their hidden metadata stripped.
Does it remove SynthID or defeat every AI detector?
It reliably removes known invisible watermark characters — a verifiable, deterministic step. It does not rewrite your wording, so statistical or model-based detection that lives in word choice (approaches like SynthID) is not something this tool claims to defeat.
Is my content stored?
No. Text and files are processed in memory only to clean them, then discarded. We don't save or log what you paste or upload.
Can I clean several files at once?
Yes. Drag in as many files as your plan allows and they are cleaned one after another, each with its own download link plus a Download all button. Without an account you clean one file at a time; a free account raises that to 5 files per upload, Pro to 100 and Agency to 500.
Is there a limit?
Without an account: 1 file per upload and 10 removals a day. A free account gives 5 files per upload and 100 a day, Pro 100 files per upload and 2,000 a day, Agency 500 files per upload and 10,000 a day. Every file in a bulk upload counts as one removal.
