The story

It began as hunting dropped domains to register — and grew into a bulk domain name availability checker for availability, WHOIS and expiry in one pass.

01 — The task

A domain name availability checker that skips the one-by-one grind

The original job was PBN drop-hunting: take a long list of candidate domains and find which are actually free to register. The same list also answers a second question — for domains you already own or watch, when does each expire? Doing either by hand, one WHOIS lookup per domain, is unbearable past a handful. So we made a scanner that swallows the whole list at once.

02 — What we built

A bulk domain availability checker tool: paste a big list, get a verdict on every domain

Drop in up to 500 domains or full URLs — duplicates and URL noise stripped automatically — and each row is resolved live: availability (free vs taken), WHOIS/RDAP registration and expiry date, days until it lapses (anything inside 90 days flagged), and the real HTTP response and redirect. Lookups are RDAP-first with a WHOIS-43 fallback, run server-side so ccTLDs like .ua resolve. Big lists run as a background job that survives you leaving the page, and the whole table exports to XLS.

03 — What the report shows

Available domains first, so drops jump out

For every row, at a glance:

  • Available vs registered — free to grab, or taken
  • Expiry date — from WHOIS/RDAP
  • Days until it lapses — with ≤90 days flagged
  • Live status code — 200 / 301 / 404 / 5xx
  • Redirect target — where a live domain sends you
  • Batch totals — registered / expiring / available
04 — How it helps

Sift hundreds of candidates in one pass

Scan a big list of drop candidates and grab the ones worth registering — with available domains sorted first — instead of checking them one by one. Point it at domains you own to catch anything lapsing within 90 days and renew before it drops. For a portfolio you want watched continuously, it hands off to Sites Panel; this is the fast, on-demand scan.

How it’s used

Two jobs for one domain availability checker

The same domain availability checker tool answers two questions at once — what’s free to register, and what’s about to expire. Paste a list and read the column you care about.

Use 1

Hunt drops

Feed a list of candidates; available domains are sorted to the top so the ones worth registering jump out.

Available firstFree vs taken
Use 2

Watch expiry

Feed domains you own; expiry dates and days-until-lapse surface anything dropping within 90 days.

Under the hood

A bulk domain name availability checker built to swallow big lists

Hundreds of lookups shouldn’t tie up your browser or lose your place. This online domain availability checker runs server-side, in the background, and comes back tidy.

Background jobs

Large lists run as a server-side job that keeps going after you close the tab — come back to a finished result instead of babysitting a spinner.

RDAP-first engine

Modern RDAP where registries offer it, WHOIS-43 where they don’t — run server-side so ccTLDs resolve without a public API.

Parallel lookups

Domains are resolved concurrently with a live progress bar, so a few hundred rows finish in a single pass.

Input cleaning

Full URLs, query strings, protocols and duplicates are normalized to bare domains before the scan starts.

XLS export

The whole verdict table — availability, expiry, days-until, status — goes back to your spreadsheet in one click.

Fair-use limits

The Free plan checks up to 50 domains per run; Pro and Agency raise the ceiling toward large lists.

Why it earns its place

Four reasons to run a scan

01
Sift drops in bulk
Hundreds of candidate domains in one pass, available ones sorted first — grab the good drops fast.
02
Never lose a domain
Anything you own lapsing within 90 days is flagged, so you renew before it drops by surprise.
03
Works on hard TLDs
Server-side WHOIS reaches ccTLDs like .ua that RDAP-only tools return blank on.
04
Paste anything
Full URLs, messy scrapes, duplicates — all normalized to clean domains before the scan.
Checker vs Sites Panel. Domain Checker is a one-off bulk scan — no setup. For domains you own and want watched continuously (expiry, DR, response over time), add them to Sites Panel. Availability is best-effort from WHOIS/RDAP; the Free plan is capped at 50 domains per run.
